He has performed with a range of British musicians, Yusupha never fails to surprise audiences with his ability to fuse traditional Wollof rhythms with a range of music forms & Folk to Blues, Jazz and Rave!

Born in 1966, Yusuypha is an accomplished musician from the Gambia, West Africa.
Traditional Wollof tribe. His ancestors have played traditional music ceremonies for generations and the family remains leading exponents of traditional music in the Gambia,
He learnt to play music in the time-honoured aural method by which rhythms have been passed down from father to son over many hundreds of years. His father, Dodou Mboob, was the leading talking drum (Tama) player of his generation. Yusupha began playing drums at the age of four and by the age of ten had become a regular performer with the family drum troupe.
As well as continuing the family's traditional music activities - an important contribution to the continuing strength of tribal culture cohesion, Blending-exciting combinations with the traditional drum styles.
