IMBIZO PERFORMING ARTS

Imbizo performing Arts are a nine man a'capella group from Bulawayo Zimbabwe

The group was formed in 1991 and has been performing ever since. They perform original material wriiten for the group by Majahawodwa Ndlovu.

The group have toured Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa and the United Kingdom, performing their stage show - Lude Loluhambo which means "the Journey may be long- but we will get there".

They have appeared at St Paul's Carnival Bristol as the headline act.

They have also appeared ant WOMAD at Rivermead, Reading, where they wewre interviewed and featured by TV stations including the BBC, Meridian, CNN, Channel 5, Reuters, Channel 4 and News 24.

Their stage appearance an WOMAD was used as a live broadcast by Reuters and beamed around the world.

They have also appeared as Shakespears Globe theatre on the South Bank in London as part of a Globe to Globe concert as well as featuring in the Coin Street WOZA AFRICA festival in August 1999.

They have been interviewed on local and national radio and their music is being played on radio stations accross Britain.

They have appeared at Sidmouth International Folk Festival along with performances at numerous other folk festivals in England and Wales including Out of Africa Festival in Morecambe Lancashire.

Their tour was launched by a performance hosted by the Zimbabwe High Commission in London. They Continue their tour in Scotland with performances in Inverness, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and ayr.
