"DJ, MAM FAAL" has been Djing and organising cultural events in West Africa for the last twelve years. He has toured all over his two home countries, Senegal and the Gambia, performing at festivals, cultural events, night-clubs, bar/restaurants and private parties from the bright lights of Senegal's capital city, Dakar, to the remote villages and islands of the Casamance region. He put on club-nights both for local organisations and tourist camps every weekend, including specialist events such as salsa and reggae nights. He was also the in-house resident Dj for the 'Cultural Foyer de Kafountine' (his home town) and participated in all the important events in the African calendar for his local community - Tobaski, Koriteh, Independence Day Celebrations, local election campaign - as well as more small scale events such as weddings and baptisms. Other work experience includes the Carnival du Sud, Abene Festival, Karamba Experience School of Music and Dance, a national tour with Martborough Music, touring with local football teams, fund-raising tours and general education work, for example a project for the Millennium Commission's 'On The Line' division linking West Africa and the UK.
Music Played Includes: Mbalax, Salsa-Mbalax, Afro-Manding (Senegal/Gambia), Soukous (Zaire), Funana (Guinea Bissau/Cap Verde), also music from Mali, Guinea, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Hip Hop (from West Africa), Salsa (Latin America), Reggae, Zouk (Caribbean). Mam Faal now based in the UK and is available for work. .
