Salsa Timba
is a contemporary music that has been developing in Cuba under the influences of salsa, jazz, pop, rock, rap, reggae and son music. These elements fused together are called T i m b a. Timba is a very vibrant sound with elements of Afro-Cuban folkioric drums, congas, timbales, bass and piano. It is a very contagious and contemporary Cuban sound.
Chacon originally trained as a music teacher in Havana, Cuba and has worked with various Cuban bands including: Paulito Fg, El Medico de la salsa during a time when they were gaining international recogni- tion. In 1995 he became the lead singer with Bamboleo, he com- posed and sang on their first CD 'Te gusto o te caigo bien' He also featured on the CD 'Una Adventura Loca' - by el Medico de la salsa.

Also over the years, the group has taken part in performances including; Cuban Festival, as a headline band, Clerkenwell Festival, Jazz Cafe, C, Arts Centre, Brighton Arts the Millennium Dome, World Beat weekend, France festival, at among others. He has been invited to sing as solo artist with Adalberto Santiago, Azuquita, Tito Allen (Fania All Stars), with the great timbalero Roberto Plat (Colombia), Herman Olivera and Eddie Palmieri, Giovanni Hidalgo and appeared as a supporting artist as Celia Cruz, Oscar d Leon, Ruben Blades and the Canario.
