The Bazz Duo can fulfil the need of any function through its wide repertoire of sophisticated styles. Picture a very soothing and accessible sound: the rhythm is subtle but present and the voice is warm and soulful. They specialise in jazz and also include in our repertoire Latin music blues easy listening and modern classics. They will gladly learn personal favourites in advance if required. Versatility and adaptability is their trademark. They will set the ambience for you whether the setting is formal or casual.
CHAFIK CHKRKF Chafik began playing guitar fifteen years ago. He was an audio-visual technician in Paris and was working for GPA production After working a couple of years in the film business, he decided to embrace a musical career. His first gigs were with the African band Sita Lanta. From 1990 to 1994, Chafik performed in Paris with diverse groups while studying jazz at the American School of Music. He later on perfected his style with Pierre Cullaz at the Cim School of Music. At the end of 1994, Chafik moved to Montreal. He has worked as a session musician and a corporate entertainer. He has also performed in many local night-clubs such as Quartier Latin, le Balatou, The Zaz bar The Curry House, City Pub, Unicorn, to name a few. He's a versatile guitar player. He has played jazz, reggae, traditional Mexican music, soukous from Zaire and Warba from Senegal. Chafik is passionate about music and enlarging his musical culture. He's presently studying flamenco and classical guitar. In 1999 Chafik joined an up coming vocalist Jini Bazz They have built a large repertoire that satisfies most taste and are committed to providing quality entertainment.
JINI BAZZ A world-class vocalist, Jini has studied jazz at the University of Montreal She started her musical studies at the age of six with the Piano, She was a classical pianist for many years. She even went on to study classical piano from 1994 to 1996 at the Saint-Croix Music College of Montreal She has been singing professionally since 1998. She was a choir member and soloist with the People s Gospel Choir of Montreal in 1998 - 1999 Jini has been active both on the local jazz world and rock music scene. In 1998 she played extensively as a back vocalist for many local French artist s such as Marie- Chantale Toupin, Myriam Shine to name a few. In 1999, she was lead singer with G. Leeflang in the Black Sheep world music band Their repertoire ranged from reggae to traditional songs from Surinam. In May of 2000 they toured briefly in Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Jini performs each song in her own special way. She can be deeply expressive or simply entertaining. Jini's on stage presence and deep voice will take you on a delightful journey.
