The band abana is a spin-off from the group Super Combo from Sierra Leone.
The current ex-Super Combo members are Emile and Alimamy, they are joined by other musicians that make up a line up of guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, congas, and other percussion.
The band first gained recognition after performing at a 'live' session on the Andy Kershaw Show on BBC Radio One.
Since then ABANA have made several appearances at several gigs in London, and various venues nation-wide, including
The Barbican Centre in London, Wales, Scotland, and The Orkney Islands, delighting audiences with their infectious African dance music and rhythms.
